HALLETT, Herbert Valentine Rex

No.2657242, Guardsman, Herbert Valentine Rex HALLETT
Aged 25

1st Battalion, Coldstream Guards
Died on Sunday, 2nd June 1940

Herbert Valentine Rex Hallett was born on 14th February 1915 in Swaffham Prior (Newmarket Q1-1915 3B:837), baptised in St Mary's, Swaffham Prior on 14th March 1915, son of Frederick William and Daisy Alberta HALLETT (née PRESTON).

None have been identified in the 1939 register.

In Westminster in Q1-1940 he married Lillian MALKIN, later of Scawthorpe, Yorkshire.

His death was registered in Bromley, Kent. He had been resident in Buckinghamshire.
Without his Army records it is impossible to be sure how he died, but given the date it seems more than likely he made it home from Dunkirk but died of his wounds.
